The start of my coffee pod obsession
Hi! I'm in lockdown. I'm too lazy to walk to the nearest coffee hole-in-the-wall, even though it's only like two blocks over, but there you go.
I bought a shit-ton of coffee pods just then and I'm going to rate them all.
So far I'm only familiar with L'Or's Ristretto, which I drank for a few days before I had my first Nespresso pod in a long while, and right now Nespresso is the one to beat.
Here's a list of the ones I've bought from Coles:
- Starbucks Italian Style Roast (Intensity 11)
- Starbucks Espresso Roast (Intensity 11)
- L'Or Ultimo (Intensity 13)
- L'Or Onyx (Intensity 12)
- Republica Sydney double Shot (Intensity 14)
- Vittoria Coffee Black Valley Reserva Blend (Intensity 15 wtf)
- Daley St Intense Roast (Intensity 12)
- Moccona Barista Reserve Latte (Intensity 12)
Some notes:
- I don't like Vittoria's typical house blend, but I figured maybe their coffee pods might be alright/taste different.
- I also don't think much of Moccona coffee, just your standard kind of crappy mass market consumer coffee, cheap but meh. But I also thought I would give it a shot – after all this wouldn't be a proper review blog if I didn't sample the whole range (I am also going to try Coles' pods too eventually lol)
- And I'm a massive sucker for packaging and Daley St looks like the kind of hipster Inner Melbourne shit I want to explore.
What else should I buy??? What do people like? WHICH PODS ACTUALLY HAVE THE MOST CAFFEINE?
(P.S. Hi Richard, my only reader)
