M'eh: L'Or Ultimo coffee capsule review

L'Or has sooo many different pod flavours that I wonder if they just invent new ones for the sake of it? Surely.

I haven't blogged all week, meaning I have four whole pods that I need to catch up on. I very nearly forgot that I even had this one, and after making it again just then, I'm reminded of why: it's completely characterless. Forgettable.

There isn't a super-strong smell that comes out from the capsule liquid, and the liquid itself is quite light in colour, almost caramel-coloured. Upon tasting it, the intensity is there, sure, but I don't find it very pleasant – in fact I would even describe it as on the edge of burnt. There are also some fruity and sweet notes that mix in strangely with the bitter burntness.

After adding milk in, any coffee taste gets completely drowned out by the milk (and the milk was only about two thirds of the mug). It's nondescript at first, but then leaves you with a burnt caramel aftertaste that is unpleasant and does the opposite of keeping you wanting more.

Would I buy it again? Not even if you paid me.

To be honest it's a relief to find ones I don't like or don't impress me. The amount of coffee capsules I haha to get through is really piling up haha, oops.
